Product mockups

Product mockups are essential for ecommerce sites to avoid having to photograph EVERY product. Have your own products photographed or buy from stock images on e.g shutterstock and have your own designs superimposed on them. Please contact me prior to your photoshoot or purchase, to make ensure your image is optimal for deep etching.

Perfect for cushions, mugs, t-shirts, bags. wall art etc.

Web Design

I have many years of experience in creating and designing WordPress and Woocommerce websites. Other ecommerce options I can assist with are Shopify and Prestashop.

WooCommerce vs Shopify

The setup cost is roughly the same, but if you are looking for lower monthly costs then Shopify will cost you more than WooCommerce, which will only cost your monthly hosting. (As well as annual domain registration fee.) Hosting can begin at R99 a month. I recommend Kalk Bay Enlightened Hosting for excellent service as well as carbon neutral hosting.

Shopify is more user friendly than WooCommerce, so once you website is set up you may find it better to have an ecommerce site that is easier to update and add products to.

Shopify comes with 10 free themes. Woocomerce has one free theme, but there are countless free WordPress themes that can work with WooCommerce.

Other factors to take into consideration are payment gateways and currency options.

WooCommerce sites require updates to plugins and are also at risk of being hacked.

Balaclava Boy

by Jenny Robson, illustrated by Sandy Mitchell

Why is the new boy at school wearing a balaclava? The other kids are intrigued and come up with all sorts of theories, but every single one is wrong. As their curiosity grows, Tommy’s new friends think of a plan to reveal his secret, but you’ll never guess what it is.

Feeling Sheepish

Written and illustrated by Sandy Mitchell

Gertrude cannot stop wondering about the way people talk about sheep with saying like “the black sheep of the family”, and “just like sheep”. She feel it might be better to go and live with the farm family, but the novelty soon wears off when Gertrude gets stuck in a compromising situation. Who will save her?

Surface Design

Illustration has led to pattern design for fabric and wallpaper. Not only do I create new patterns, but I can also edit existing patterns, including conversion from imperial and metric, colour changes etc. Many of my patterns are available from Pattern Bank where you can buy them for licensing.

Explorations in surface design has led to the development of my own brand oli+frank , quirky designs on fabric and paper for pipsqueaks and beyond….

Visit oli+frank online shop (sorry but I will always say shop and not store!) t for fun cushion covers, zip bags, notebooks, greeting cards and more….

I have also created custom designs for the baby and child bedding range, Studio Collection.
